Marcia has worked in the healthcare services field for 15 years, specializing in systems that improve the patient life cycle in both the clinical and financial sectors. Her broad experience includes working to implement technology and process improvement initiatives with both financial and clinical staff in over 15 hospitals. She leads the PatientMatters team responsible for implementing new clients.
Marcia rejoined the PatientMatters team after taking a brief break to work with the Health Information Exchange of Maryland to implement their new data repository, as well as leading the product roll out of healthcare IT tools to assist clinicians in better accessing patient data.
Marcia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from West Liberty University in West Virginia, and Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Metropolitan University in Tampa. She is a member of the West Virginia Chapter of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), currently serving as the program chair. She has also served as the chapter’s social media chair and has begun her board of directors rotation. Her presentation on the need for better patient financial options earned her the West Virginia HFMA chapter’s Speaker of the Year award for 2015-2016.
